WHY WE SHOULD ALL STRIVE TO BE GOD'S GIRL BOSSES

Jesus Said:

“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”--Matthew 23:12

I once heard a story about two young men applying for a job at a prestigious company in Manhattan. The first man had all of the right connections, the Ivy League Degree, the flashy wardrobe, the distinguished list of internships--everything he needed to kick him straight into the position.

The second man had none of those things, but he had extraordinary passion. During his interview, he told the recruiter that if he were to secure the position, he would feel so lucky to come to work every day that he’d be willing to stay late and sweep the floors.

Guess who got the job?

Just like the man who was willing to sweep the floors, we too, should humble ourselves in the workplace--and no, I don’t just mean sucking up to our bosses.

Instead of being driven by our desire to achieve success on our own, let’s shift our focus and strive to achieve success through and for the One who specifically and intentionally designed each and every one of us.

Let’s remember every trial God carried us through in order to reach this specific place in our careers, and let’s show gratitude for how far we’ve come--rather than beating ourselves up for how much farther we have to go.

Let’s actually BELIEVE that God has a special plan for us, and that he’s put us in this position, at this time, for HIS glory.

We will become the best #girlboss versions of ourselves when we allow GOD to BE OUR BOSS. Let’s humble ourselves before our Lord, let’s ask HIM to be our boss, our mentor, our confidant and our friend. Strike out #girlboss--let’s be #God’sgirlbosses.

Xx
